The organization has been working with the rural communities in Kenya, particularly in Rift Valley. This approach is premised on the fact that it is the rural communities who are normally victims of the intermittent conflicts in Rift Valley and other conflict prone areas in the country.

The Centre uses a human rights approach to the peace process. The approach seeks to enhance participation of all members of the communities to play an active role in any peace process and also empower them to be able to deal with low level conflicts that ferment over time and lead to full blown conflicts.

The Centre's activities have focused on capacity building in conflict prevention, management and resolution in Rift Valley but not limited to the province. The head office isin Nakuru town and field offices in Samburu and Laikipia Districts.

The Centre has also been working with senior government officials in trying to link policy to practice and practice to policy

CCR has in the past ten years conducted Conflict Resolution Education to various groups, professionals, organizations and institutions including universities.  Conflicts in Kenya following the Post – election violence has resulted to several negative ethnicity and suspicion among people who previously worked harmoniously.

In response CCR Kenya has tailor – made short courses for workers and other structured groups.CCR has highly skilled and experienced trainers who carry out these programs
